About Xiaoyin Chen

Xiaoyin Chen’s journey into acupuncture has been shaped by an unusual combination of traditional Chinese medicine, Western education, and a lifelong curiosity about how things work.

She graduated from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 2008, where she developed a strong foundation in Chinese medicine and traditional Chinese herbs. She achieved excellent academic results, including a score of 96 out of 100 in Basic Knowledge of Chinese Medicine, Traditional Chinese Herbs, and related subjects.

In the end of 2008, she moved to the Netherlands. She learned Dutch and went on to complete a Bachelor’s degree taught in Dutch and a Master’s degree taught in English in Econometrics at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her training in econometrics strengthened her analytical and problem-solving skills—qualities that continue to influence the way she approaches her work today.

Her personal experience eventually brought her back to Chinese medicine.

While studying in the Netherlands, Xiaoyin developed a health condition that Western medicine was unable to effectively resolve, and surgery was recommended. She decided to try acupuncture instead. After three acupuncture sessions, she recovered.

This experience had a profound impact on her. It reignited her passion for Chinese medicine and inspired her to help others through acupuncture.

Xiaoyin has always been fascinated by the process of finding solutions. Whether solving complex mathematical problems, identifying issues in data models, or navigating challenges in everyday life, she naturally approaches problems with curiosity and careful observation. As an acupuncturist, she brings this same mindset to understanding each patient as an individual.

Her interest in Chinese medicine extends beyond acupuncture itself. With a particular fascination for Daoist medicine, Xiaoyin has travelled across China and sought guidance from respected Daoist masters, exploring traditional knowledge and considering how ancient wisdom can continue to be relevant in the modern world.

For Xiaoyin, acupuncture is not simply about addressing a symptom. It is about listening carefully, looking at the individual as a whole, and working together towards better health and balance.

Her unique background in Chinese medicine, Western education, and analytical thinking allows her to bring different perspectives to her practice while maintaining a deep respect for traditional wisdom. She is committed to providing attentive, personalised care and supporting each patient on their own journey towards greater health and wellbeing.
